  1. Fruity Elegance: Notes of ripe orchard fruits such as apples and pears, providing a sweet and inviting aroma.

  2. Honeyed Warmth: A subtle hint of honey and malt, contributing to a comforting sweetness.

  3. Floral Undertones: Delicate floral undertones, with a touch of heather and blossom, adding a layer of complexity.

Palate:

  1. Velvety Smoothness: Silky on the palate with a luxurious mouthfeel, indicating a well-crafted and matured spirit.

  2. Fruit Explosion: Bursting with flavors of orchard fruits, complemented by a gentle spiciness, creating a harmonious balance.

  3. Toasty Oak: Oak influences emerge, bringing warm, toasty notes and a hint of vanilla, a testament to the aging process.

Finish:

  1. Long and Lingering: A satisfying, lingering finish that evolves on the palate, leaving a lasting impression.

  2. Subtle Spice: A subtle, warming spice that adds depth to the overall experience without overpowering the delicate flavors.

  3. Hint of Dark Chocolate: A nuanced hint of dark chocolate appears towards the end, providing a delightful conclusion to the tasting journey.

The glass shown was also a present, and I love these little glasses, brings out the flavour in the whisky, also great for small beers:
Which I think shows off the logo really well

Within the same present I also got these great little Granite Cubes, that you place in the freezer and use as Ice Cubes, except you dont dilute your whisky.

What better way to see in the new year, than to see it in with an English whisky at a great price, please take a look at the following link Cotswold distillery

Lager: Stroud Brewery Premium Organic Lager

First of my Food of the Cotswolds is Beer! Well Lager! I normally would say Cotswold Brewery for a Lager, as that all I have really found in the Cotswold that does a locally brewed Lager. But no more!

From the Stroud Brewery http://www.stroudbrewery.co.uk/ a Organic Lager using local growing barley. What is really cool with Stroud brewery I think is that they show a map of where the barley is grown in the Cotswolds for their lager! Now that is cool. So next time you drive by a field of Barley in the Cotswolds you can find out if that is one of the fields.

Brewed using Bavarian hops, the taste is very European in lager style, a real premium taste. Now I have tasted St Austel Korev (In fact the glass in the picture is a Korev glass), and I have tasted Cotswold lager, both of which I highly rate and would drink these over any other mainstream lager sold in the UK (I am a fan of proper continental pilsner!), and I would say that the Stroud Premium Organic lager sits with these as UK brewed Lagers to drink!

Highly Recommended.

Welcome

So to celebrate the wonderful part of the world we live in, I thought I would track a year in the cotswolds.

So first point at the end of the year is Charlbury, on the cotswold line..a small town with lots going for it. The train line providing fast access to London, which is why is expensive and why alot of famous people live in the area.
